Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and work climate on the performance of public junior high school teachers in Balaraja District, Tangerang Regency. Utilizing a quantitative causal research design, this study involved 40 civil servant teachers as respondents selected through simple random sampling techniques. Data were collected using closed-ended questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (p = 0.010). Similarly, work climate was proven to have a highly significant effect on teacher performance (p = 0.000). Simultaneously, these two variables contributed 54.9% to the variation in teacher performance (F{count} = 28.622). These findings indicate that improving individual emotional maturity and creating a conducive work environment are key factors in optimizing educator professionalism. It is recommended that school administrators provide regular emotional intelligence training and organize the organizational climate to maintain teacher performance stability.
