Focus and Scope

BASIRA is a high-quality, peer-reviewed, international journal dedicated to the rigorous study of Islamic jurisprudence through a contemporary, multidisciplinary lens. The name "Basira" (derived from the Arabic word for insight or discernment) reflects the journal’s mission: to provide profound intellectual clarity and vision in navigating the complexities of modern legal and societal challenges within the framework of Sharia.

Unlike traditional legal journals, BASIRA bridges the gap between normative Sharia (the law as it is written) and Behavioral Law (how law interacts with human psychology and social reality). We focus on how Islamic legal principles are manifested in daily life, institutional governance, and global regulatory frameworks.

Aims and Scope

The journal invites scholars to submit original research, critical reviews, and case studies that contribute to the following five pillars:

  • Behavioral Law & Society: Investigating the psychological and sociological impact of Islamic legal rulings on community behavior and social dynamics.

  • Analytical Sharia: Promoting deep, critical, and systematic analysis of classical Fiqh and Ushul al-Fiqh in the context of contemporary problems.

  • Integrity & Ethics: Exploring the role of Akhlak (ethics) and transparency in the judicial process, legal profession, and public administration.

  • Regulatory Affairs: Analyzing the integration of Sharia principles into national legislation, international law, and corporate governance.

  • Contemporary Ijtihad: Providing a platform for innovative legal solutions regarding technology, digital economy, bioethics, and human rights.
